Specialised Kinesiology is a holistic approach to health and well-being. The body has an innate ability to heal itself, and by addressing the underlying causes of stress and disease, we can support the body’s natural healing process.
One of the key areas of focus in Specialised Kinesiology is the fight or flight stress response. This physiological response occurs when the body perceives a threat or danger, e.g., a car accident, conflict or hectic deadline at work. When this happens, the body releases stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline, which prepare the body for a fight or to flee from the perceived threat. While this response can be helpful in short bursts, chronic stress can lead to various health problems such as high blood pressure, anxiety, and chronic pain.
As a specialised kinesiologist, my work involves helping men, women, and children to achieve optimal physical and mental well-being. What intrigues me the most is the process of uncovering the story behind their ailment or challenge, as it allows me to provide tailored treatment and guidance.
I’ve assisted clients with the following:
Chronic pain
Emotional trauma
Digestive problems
Posture and movement challenges
Learning and behavioural challenges
Sensory integration (mostly children)
Stress and anxiety
Chronic fatigue
It is important to note, that as a practice, Kinesiology, forms part of a holistic approach to healthcare. It is not a substitute for your existing healthcare regime and is not meant to replace your need for medical care or medications, neither is it meant to cure you. What it does do, is ensure that your body is better able to naturally heal itself.
I’m registered with the Association of Specialised Kinesiologists South Africa
